Jobseeker Information Network for jobseekers to know their rights

As a Jobseeker who is in receipt of a Centrelink Allowance, you have certain obligations that you must meet in order to continue receiving your Allowance.  It's part and parcel of receiving the allowance.  One of these obligations is that you must actively participate with a jobactive provider or a Disability Employment Services (DES) provider - depending on your circumstances - these are commonly known as Employment Service Providers or ESP's.

You are continuously told what is expected of you, and in some cases, the fear of losing your allowance - the only income you have to survive on - is held over your head should you not oblige, even in some cases where it is not physically possible.  I think every jobseeker knows exactly what a Participation Report (PR) is and the affect that it can have on a jobseeker.

BUT.... do you know exactly what you are entitled to from your ESP?  In most cases, an ESP will tell you exactly what you can and can't do, however, how well informed are you, as a jobseeker, on what they can or should do for you to assist you into suitable employment, and then to maintain that employment.

This is the purpose of the Jobseeker Information Network, to inform you of what assistance an ESP is 'Contractually Obligated' to provide to jobseekers.  What information you must provide and what information you do not need to provide.

This site will provide regular updates relating to jobseeker entitlements and obligations.  If you are a jobseeker and you are unsure of anything that an ESP has directed you to do, or questions about what has been requested of you, then I urge you to contact us through our 'Contact Us' tab.

This is a FREE service for jobseekers.
